Frances is an experienced solicitor, having been in practice for over 30 years and having had her own general practice business for over 10 years. She joined Rooney Family Law in May 2022 and brings with her a wealth of general experience while focussing primarily on family law. She is training in Collaborative Practice to offer clients an alternative to the court process, which provides a less stressful experience and better outcomes for clients. She is a member of the Family Law Association and is also a Notary Public.
Frances has expertise in all aspects of family law, including Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements, Matrimonial Separation and Divorce, Cohabitation and Dissolution of Civil Partnerships, Residence and Child Contact issues, as well as resolving complex financial aspects arising from separation.
Frances understands that practising in this area of law is about more than just knowing and applying the law. Using skills such as active listening, understanding clients’ needs and how to support them at stressful times in their lives, she provides advice in a clear and empathetic manner and is resolution driven to achieve the best outcome for her clients.
Outside of work, Frances enjoys spending time with her family, including pets and friends. She has also been a Legal Member of the First-Tier Tribunal for Scotland (Health & Education) since 2011.
